A Message from the IronOaks President

Pat Horning, IronOaks President

Bunker Time at IronOaks, Plus a Warm Welcome to Our New Board Member!

Exciting Progress on the Greens

Last year we completed a successful renovation of the nine holes on the Lakes Golf Course, which included a brand-new irrigation system, turf reduction, vibrant new plantings and trees, and beautifully upgraded sand bunkers. Hats off to Ross Buckendahl and his team for their outstanding work in creating an even better playing experience!

Building on that momentum, in May, the board approved funding for a full renovation of all sand bunkers on the Palms and the Sonoran Golf Courses. Work began in early June and is expected to be completed by the end of September. As is standard practice during the summer months, we’ll continue rotating closures of nine-hole courses weekly to allow for regular maintenance and healing. Bunker renovations will take place during these closures and also during normal play hours.

More detailed updates will be provided by our Golf Team as the project progresses. And while no one really looks forward to landing in a bunker, we’re confident that when it happens, you’ll appreciate the clean, refreshed sand and improved design.

Meet Your New Board Member: Tina Groves

We’re pleased to welcome Tina Groves to the IronOaks Board of Directors! Tina brings a wealth of experience in project management, finance, and organizational leadership. She and her husband have called IronOaks home for the past five years, following many years in Northern California.

Tina is actively involved in our community. She enjoys golfing, attending our tribute concerts, dining at our food and beverage venues, and participating in various outdoor activities. Her expertise and enthusiasm are a welcome addition to the board, especially as we plan and evaluate several important upcoming projects.

Summer May Slow Us Down, But Not for Long

While the pace of life might ease up a bit during the summer months, your board, committee members, and dedicated volunteers are hard at work behind the scenes. We deeply appreciate their time, commitment, and service to our community.

IronOaks: The Ideal Retirement Destination

Our mission remains clear: to maintain and enhance IronOaks as one of the most desirable retirement communities in the Valley. That includes a strong focus on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy your summer at IronOaks!
