As many of you know, last year the recycling company United Fibers canceled the recycling program we operate at the Posse building. United Fibers ultimately sold or transferred this operation to a new company that we have been trying to work with since last September.

We currently have two volunteers in their 80s who try to maintain the integrity of the contents and assist people with unloading cars. Remember, they are volunteers. We have encountered many days when the scheduled pick-up was not maintained, and the bins regularly overflowed. People simply left everything, including trash, bed mattresses and worse around the building.

By mutual consent with the contractor, sadly, we will be shortly removing the recycling cans and will be unable to continue with this community service.
