Sun Lakes United Methodist Church (SLUMC) is saying farewell to its Senior Pastor of nine years, Rev. Marvin Arnpriester. Pastor Marvin came out of retirement as an interim pastor in 2015, and his ministry to the church and community lasted nine wonderful years. His second retirement this July culminates a total of 60 years of ministry in the United Methodist Church, serving in Texas, Iowa, and Arizona.
Pastor Marvin’s ministry in Sun Lakes has been one of biblical teaching and preaching, encouragement, inspiration, and challenge to the membership and community involvement. His commitments and faithfulness to Christ has permeated everything he has done, and the fruit of his labors will follow him.
We, the congregation and staff, give thanks for Pastor Marvin’s ministry among us. As he enters retirement (again!), our prayers are with him and his wife Carolyn for a smooth transition into the next chapter of his life. His has been a life and ministry well lived.
Rev. Jennifer Lambert begins her ministry at SLUMC in early July. She comes to us via Red Mountain United Methodist Church where she has been the Senior Pastor for the past eight years. We look forward to her ministry with us!
