The public is invited to attend the Southeast Valley Branch American Association of University Women International Dinner to be held at Oakwood Country Club on Monday, February 15 at 5:00 p.m.
Celebrating HOLI, the spring Festival of Color in India, the colorful evening will include many of the members wearing beautiful saris, Jodhpuri suits, etc. from sites such as Lashkaraa, rangoli table decorations, and two types of classical dances of India. Bharatanatyam will be presented by students under the guidance of Shyla Sadha Ganesan, a teacher in Arizona, who is a member of the Nrityalaya Aesthetics Society, AZ. Odissi students of Rachna Nath, Director at Bichitra School of Odissi Dance, will also be presented.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle of fun-filled colorful gift baskets which will support our local scholarship fund. Each year Southeast Valley AAUW Branch supports a Chandler Unified School District female student. Emely Hernandez, a Chandler High School student, was our 2015 recipient.
