The Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) completed one of its longest breakfast fly-in trips recently on February 20 when four aircraft and 11 members and guests showed up at Benson, located 35 miles southeast of Tucson. Pilots and their passengers included Richard Simmons, Gary West and Larry Perkins in Steve Perkins’ Cessna 182; Gene Evans and Robin Sundstrom in Paul Beek’s Bellanca Cruismaster; Craig Day in Cannon Hill’s RV-6; and J.R. Scheidereiter in Gary Vacin’s Grumman AA1. SLAC scheduled a fly-in to Payson March 24 and to San Carlos Apache just east of Globe April 21.
