Mary La Tourelle
October’s meeting featured Karen Fisher, an art quilter from Tucson. She shared a wealth of information that was especially interesting to the art quilters in our midst. At our Nov. 6 meeting we will hear from Jennifer Johnson of A Quilter’s Oasis in Mesa. She will be talking about quilters’ favorites: notions and needles. In the spring we will be hosting Gina Perkes, an internationally award-winning quilter from The Copper Needle in Payson.
All are invited to check out our Boutique on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. There will be a wide range of very reasonably priced items for your holiday giving or for your own use.
On Dec. 4 we will hold our annual Holiday Luncheon at Palo Verde starting at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $31, and reservations must be made by Nov. 20. Faith Bragg and Georgia Hartman are planning a fun time for all.
Mark your calendars for QuiltCon on Feb. 20-23, 2025, at the Phoenix Convention Center. Sponsored by the Modern Quilt Guild, this is the largest modern quilting event in the world, with attendees coming from around the globe.
Visitors are welcome to attend any of our meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of the month, September through May, at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club (25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd.). For more information, please visit our website at agavequiltersguild.com.
