Agave Quilters News

Loy Rheinauer

The Agave Quilters February meeting will be held on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club.

Our guild is open to new members of all skill levels… those who are beginners with an interest in learning to quilt, others to improve their talents, and, of course, those who have already become ensconced in the quilt “habit.” We are a group with all levels of expertise, style, and special interests such as art quilting, machine embroidery, applique, paper piecing, basic traditional blocks, community service, etc.

Our program for February will be presented by Kathy Reynolds from Quilter’s Oasis. She will be demonstrating Deb Tucker tools and techniques with four demos and samples to help us be more efficient quilters.

Dues for the calendar year of January through December are $30 with a one-time purchase of an Agave name badge for $12. Each member wearing their badge at the general meetings earns a raffle ticket and the chance of winning one of several prizes… often gift cards from our local quilt shops. Our general meetings are held January through May and September through December. Each month’s meeting features a speaker, a show and tell session of members’ works, a brief business meeting to announce upcoming events, and classes scheduled for the upcoming months. You may sign up for the classes at the general meeting.

For further information, please contact Loy Rheinauer, president, at 360-903-7278 or Dennie Sullivan, membership chair, at 480-540-7509.

We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful Agave Quilt Guild, the original Sun Lakes guild since 1992.
