The Cotillion Dance Club is presenting “It’s Love Actually” in the Oakwood ballroom on Saturday February 4. This will be a formal dinner dance. A touch of red in your outfit always enhances the experience. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Come early and enjoy the company and atmosphere. Members and guests are welcome. Guest seating will be limited, so be sure to register early. Member invitations have been mailed. Online registration is available on our website.
Jim and Gayle Alvar looked spectacular as they entered the ballroom at last season’s Valentine Ball. Can’t wait to see what sartorial splendor we are greeted with at the next Valentine dinner dance. The “Messingers” will provide the evening’s dance music and entertainment. This is a “Chicago” style band that perform dance favorites rendered with keyboards, drums, horns, guitars and great vocalists! This will be the third season we have had the good fortune to book this band. All their previous performances have been wonderful.
The Oakwood banquet chef provided a great meal for our January “Black and White Ball.” More on that event in the next Splash issue. He has again promised to make the upcoming meal just as great. The VIP reception will serve hors d’oeuvres including Egg Rolls with Hot and Sour Dipping sauce, Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms and Pork and Vegetable Pot Stickers with a Soy Glaze served with glasses of delicious Champagne. The background music for the reception will be provided by Bob Messinger at the baby grand piano.
The reception is followed by an intimate three-course sit-down dinner served by the banquet staff. Cotillion Dance Club volunteers have planned a Valentine theme infused table setting and ballroom decorations to make the evening a memorable fine-dining experience. The first course provides a choice of a fresh garden salad or a Red Tomato, Butter Lettuce and Red Cabbage salad. The entrees selections are a Grilled Chicken with sweet mango relish, a Balsamic Roasted Portobello, Grilled Salmon with a Lemon Caper Dill Sauce or a Stuffed Roast Loin of Pork with an Apple Mostarda Sauce. For dessert, there is a choice of a seasonal fresh fruit plate or the chef’s Strawberry Short Cake – sounds wonderful!
One of our dance studio sponsors is Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Chandler. This is their second season as a Cotillion Dance Club sponsor. We appreciate their continued services to the club. Please visit our website for more information about the services and programs available for our membership.
The group dance lesson for the upcoming dinner dance is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood Ballroom. Fred Astaire will be providing instructors for the Rumba. Members and guests are welcome.
