Anglers ready to go fishing

The schools are booked so it is time to get ready to help some kids have the time of their life. The dates are all in November starting with Friday the 4th, Wednesday the 9th, Tuesday the 15th, Wednesday the 16th, Thursday the 17th, and Wednesday the 23rd. If you are new in town or just haven’t been paying attention the Anglers Club Sponsors fishing derbies. The Anglers Club is a group of individuals from greater Sun Lakes that arrange fishing outings for youngsters from area schools. Most of these schools are from areas where the children don’t have as many fun things in life as many of us have experienced. We fish from about 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Lake Six. Lake Six is directly behind the SLCC administration office. A good time is had by all and the fun of putting a smile on the kids’ faces is priceless. You do not have to be a member of the Anglers to join in, just show up a few minutes early. The club furnishes all bait and tackle.

We would very much like to have you join the Club. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the Mirror Room SLCC at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting will be October 4. See you there to join or renew you membership. It is that time. The membership dues are $10.

Activities are funded by proceeds from the flea market held on the third Saturday of the month at the SLCC parking lot from 7:00-11:00 a.m. The first one this fall was September 17. We need smallish items to sell at the flea market. For donations call Don Herring at 480-802-9320 for drop-off or pick up. For a booth of your own at the flea market contact the SLCC office at the Clubhouse. Only a $5 fee gets you a spot. See you there.
