The Sun Lakes United Methodist Women will once again sponsor the church’s annual Women’s Retreat on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This well-attended event will take place in Lindsay Hall at the Sun Lakes Methodist Church (SLUMC) located at 9248 East Riggs Road. The cost is $10 which includes the program, handouts, morning refreshments and lunch. Tickets may be purchased at the church office until 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2019.

Reverend Jean Newell and Bev Tarpley have teamed up again to produce this year’s program, Having a Joy-Filled Heart, based on the scripture from Nehemiah 8:10, “…the joy of the Lord is my strength.” Pastor Jean Newell is the Associate Pastor at SLUMC. She has an extensive background in education, over 16 years in pastoral service and is a regular contributor to the Sun Lakes Splash. Co-leader Bev Tarpley is a member of SLUMC and a retired school superintendent.
