Classes are now underway. The newly remodeled Cottonwood Phoenix Room in the completely remodeled old Fitness Center area is our primary classroom.

Dec. 5: Gary T. held class on security, scams, password protection, ransomware, keychain, etc., and discussed numerous questions and issues offered to the 35 members in attendance.

Jan. 9: Gary T. and Sidney S. will hold class on iPhone Photography, including composition, camera modes, editing, and tips and tricks to get a good photo. The class will be held in the Cottonwood Phoenix Room of the newly remodeled Computer Learning Center. Class size is 40 max. Register for the class by visiting the website (see directions below).

Week of Jan. 23: Getting started with iPad class to be held at the Apple Store at the Chandler Fashion Center. Exact date of class to be determined and published on our website by Jan. 16. This is a basic/refresher class with the iPad—learning to navigate, set up system preferences, learn apps such as safari, maps, etc., and favorite tips. Class size is 15 max.

February through April, 2023:

Planning is now underway for these three months of classes in the Phoenix Room. A recent member survey has guided us to focus on current members’ needs, and we will do that. We will do a mixture of classes in the Phoenix Room, classes at the Apple Store, personal Friday morning One-on-One Sessions in Cottonwood’s Men’s Card Room, and periodic smaller focused classes in the Men’s Card Room.

Classes at the Apple Store in the Chandler Fashion Center did resume on Nov. 16 with back-to-back classes on the Apple Watch and Simplifying Your Day with iPhone. Fifteen attendees were present.

Register for classes by visiting the website sunlakesappleclub.com. Then, under “Upcoming Events,” click on the “Details” of the event to find the date, time, and place of the event and then follow the instructions under “Register Now” to sign up for the event. Registration is limited due to room size, nature of the discussion, and health safety concerns.

We continue to offer our question-and-answer, problem-solving service one-on-one in person—just specify the Friday (date) you would like to meet, along with your issue or question to [email protected], and we will reply to you and schedule a time for our discussion in Cottonwood’s Men’s Card Room. This is by appointment only and starts at 10 a.m.

We are always open to new people helping keep this group going. There are several open spots on the website, so please let us know if you are able to help.

Our club’s mission is to provide a forum that is educational, supportive, and fun—where we can all learn how to get the most from our Apple devices, regardless of our knowledge level. We are a no-fee club, and our objective is to remain so. As always, we continue to invite new members.
