Gary Bross

On Feb. 6 Gary T. and Gary B. held the second of the two classes on iPhone Photography. After brief photo taking instructions and some tips and tricks, we did a walkabout where we put to use what we learned. With Cottonwood’s North Lake as the background, we experimented with various camera modes, composition, lighting, etc., and took some photos. Then we returned to the classroom to edit and critique our work. This was the most fun, as we learned from a few “experts,” but also all joined in with ideas and thoughts of their own.

On March 6 and April 3, Applications Built into Your Apple Device classes will be held in Cottonwood’s Phoenix Room. Apple builds in many apps that we often ignore or take for granted, including Finder, Contacts, Reminders, Calendar, Music, FaceTime, App Store, and many others. We will refine the list, selecting only a few for each class as we approach the class dates. Register for the classes on the website.

The classes last approximately one hour, so the second hour we will handle as a question and answer period for any issues needing discussion. To ensure your issue gets answered, it is best to email it ahead of time to [email protected].

May 1: Member Discussion of Favorite Apps. We are considering an open discussion for members to share with all their favorite apps so we can all learn from each other.

Register for classes by visiting the website sunlakesappleclub.com. Then, under “Upcoming Events,” click on the “Details” of the event to find the date, time, and place of the event, and then follow the instructions under “Register Now” to sign up for the event. Registration is limited due to room size, nature of the discussion, and health safety concerns.

We continue to offer our question-and-answer, problem-solving service. Just submit your issue or question to email address [email protected] and we will reply to you, usually within a few days.

We are always open to new people helping to keep the club active and interesting. There are several open spots on the website, so please let us know if you are able to help.

Our club’s mission is to provide a forum that is educational, supportive, and fun—where we can all learn how to get the most from our Apple devices, regardless of our knowledge level. We are a no-fee club, and our objective is to remain so. As always, we continue to invite new members.
