The seventh annual Art at the Lakes Show will be held on March 7, 2015 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. around beautiful Cottonwood Lake on Brentwood Drive in Sun Lakes. There will be art, music, a raffle and food. Our rain date will be March 14 beginning and ending at the same time.

We would like to have 60 creative artists in the show. The show is open to all fine art artists throughout the Valley whose work includes paintings, pastel and mixed media. You will also find pottery and sculpture. We have handmade jewelry, gourd art and photography. The fee to enter the show will be $50 to be used to cover the show expenses and the cost of an eight foot table and two chairs for each artist in the show. Artists may share a table but will each pay the fee. We will have applications available beginning November 1 in all the Art Rooms and the Cottonwood and Palo Verde offices and at [email protected].

The event is a benefit to raise money for the Emergency Relief Fund for the firefighters in the Valley. There will be a raffle. Many items to be raffled will include, but are not limited to, artistic items, gift baskets and dinners out. This money and any money left after the show expenses are paid will go to the first responders and their families and the 100 Club of Arizona.

The firefighters will be grilling burgers and hot dogs for sale. In the past, we were able to give about $8,000 to the Emergency Relief Fund collected from the artists’ fee, raffle and food sale.

A group of talented musicians from Sun Lakes will be at the show playing bluegrass, country and many popular tunes.

Volunteers would be appreciated to help on the day of the show and we would also appreciate club donations or monetary gifts for the raffle.
