April Roundtable Event — and More

Jan Bobbett

Our members are enjoying and learning from our recent roundtable events, and we will continue the roundtable format for our April and May classes. Roundtables offer excellent communication among everyone at the table and provide a very good “hands-on” experience. They also offer our club the ability to provide more than one topic for members to choose from.

Our next Roundtable event on Monday, April 13, will feature:

* iPhone and iPad photo skills — moderated by Nancy T.

* Calendars and Maps — moderated by Gary T.

* Favorite App sharing — moderated by members only

This event will be held in Cottonwood’s Phoenix Room at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13. It’s important that you sign up for this event. Do that by going to Upcoming Events on our website, sunlakesappleclub.com. You need not be a club member to sign up and attend any of our events. Depending on need, a follow-up workshop may be announced for the following Monday.

We are also resuming classes at the Apple Store located at the Chandler Fashion Center. The store management has agreed to hold ongoing monthly classes through December, including our summer months.

Our next class at the Apple Store will be Monday, March 30, at 10 a.m. and will be a blending of three typical classes: recording techniques, iPhone photo basics, and getting started with iMovie. Attendance is limited to 25 members. Sign up for this event on the club’s website.

The following Monday, April 27, the Apple Store will host a class on the Numbers app. The class will cover Numbers basics, adding tables, adding content, entering formulas and charts and text, and much more. Bring your Mac, or one will be provided. Have the latest Numbers app downloaded. Sign up for this also on the website.

Under Upcoming Events, do not overlook the one-on-one Q&A sessions that Gary T. and Mike hold every Friday morning from 10 a.m. until noon in Cottonwood’s Men’s Card Room. These are by appointment only. Click on Event details to learn more, and register for the session.

Our club encourages questioning in a fun and learning environment as reflected in our mission statement: “to provide a forum that is educational, supportive and fun — where we can all learn how to get the most from our Apple devices regardless of our knowledge level.” We are a NO FEE club, and our objective is to remain so.
