Sun Lakes Quilting Ladies, a small group of dedicated sewers, have delivered over 4,700 quilts for Arizona Blankets 4 Kids since starting in 2001.

These quilts are distributed to seriously ill and traumatized children, along with very needy children. Very often, this blanket will be the first item a child has ever had to call their own. It’s certainly true that “a quilt is a blanket of love.”

We operate solely by donations from private individuals and both Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Club and the Sun Lakes Lions Club. We always are in need of donated fabric and, of course, volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved in a truly worthwhile endeavor, this is definitely the group to consider. We meet on the third Friday of the month in the Arts and Crafts Room of Cottonwood from 8:30 a.m. to noon. If you care to join us, please call Joyce Davey at 602-449-1268 or Karen Ryan at 480-895-5666 or just stop by for a visit.
