Audubon invites you to enjoy nature

Desert River Audubon Society has free bird walks in Chandler and in Gilbert.

Saturday Walks: Visit the Chandler Veterans Oasis Park, Chandler Heights and Lindsay, on the first Saturday of the month, 8:00 a.m. to noon. Bring the visitors and grandchildren. Find the Desert Rivers tent. Bird walks are free, and binoculars are lent out, even for children. Walk takes about an hour, and leaders will identify the various species now in migration.

Gilbert Riparian Preserve walk is the third Saturday of the month. Same as above. Located at the corner of Greenfield and Guadalupe near the Gilbert Library.

Tour de Bird: The results of this year’s visit to gardens designed for birds had over 40 visitors to two Sun Lakes gardens. Thank you to Jeanne Wellwerts and Diane Beatty who opened their yards for visitors. Thanks also to the 10 volunteers who assisted in this event.

Monthly Meeting: The January 9 speaker is Conservation Biologist Karen Krebbs who will entertain you with hummingbird facts and fun! She will make you smile and laugh. Place is the SE Regional Library at Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads in Gilbert at 7:00 p.m.

Field Trips: Visit for more trips.
