John Terranova, President, SL Bocce Ball Club
The 2023-24 Bocce Season kicked off with our annual Wine and Cheese Event on Oct. 29, and competitive play began the following day. We had a terrific day for our event, with our usual great membership turnout.
The 2023–24 Season marked the inaugural year for play on the newly refurbished bocce courts. Many thanks to the CWPV Homeowners Association, General Manager Steve Hardesty, and his management team, especially Facilities (Jim Miller) and Grounds (Scott Anderson), for their continued support, upgrades, and improvements made over the past three years. It has been a pleasure working with both managers and their staff.
While it’s too late to register and play the first session, it’s not too late to register for the second session. For those interested, registration for the second session starts on Dec. 7 and ends on Jan. 7.
Those interested can complete a registration form at our club’s website, www.sunlakesbocceclub.com, starting Dec. 7 and pay the $25 registration fee online, which covers the cost for a two-person team for the second session. The second session play kicks off on Jan. 15, and concludes on March 17, followed by our second session Potluck Awards Banquet, to be held on March 24, at Sisk Park.
Any individual who needs assistance in registering for the second session can contact the club’s membership director at 630-309-3832. As always, all new players to the game, or those who require it, can request instruction by our Training Committee by forwarding an email to the attention of the membership director at siskbocce@hotmail.com.
