The Sun Lakes Fire Department and their Community Assistance Program volunteers participated in a multi-agency Fire Department drill in a smoky, but simulated “high rise fire” at the Chandler Fire Academy off Dobson Road. SLFD Battalion Chief Rob Helie served as the Incident Commander at the drill and SLFD crews participated both in search and rescue within the building and simulated medical scenarios outside. CAP volunteers served as victims who had to be found in the interior of the building and removed via the exterior fire escapes. In addition to Sun Lakes sending one engine and one ambulance, crews from Chandler and Gila River also participated.
