The Card Makers of Sun Lakes will be meeting on Aug. 16 at 1 p.m., in the Arts & Crafts Room of Sun Lakes Phase 1. Members will gather at 11:30 a.m. for lunch in the Sun Lakes Phase 1 Grill, but lunch is totally optional. Our meetings consist of making beautiful cards, with supplies provided by the teacher of the month. Each of us takes a turn being “teacher of the month.” Our current members all specialize in various card making techniques, as there is always something new to learn each month. We are also going to be offering fee-based classes in basic card making for the newbie in the fall, starting in September. Each year we publish a calendar for the next year and exchange a packet of our best work with each other at the Christmas luncheon.
