Chandler Memory Care invites area residents to visit their community at 850 So. Pennington Drive and smile for charity. During the month of September, Chandler Memory Care will be snapping photographs of anyone who stops by with a one dollar donation to their “Summer of 1,000 Smiles” fundraiser, benefiting the Desert Southwest chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Anyone familiar with Alzheimer’s knows the heartbreaking effects of the disease,” says Chandler Memory Care Executive Director Peggy Ulland. “At our senior living community, we believe wrinkles mark where smiles have been. Here’s your chance to be the reason for someone’s smile today. They may need it.”
The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s today, and every 67 seconds someone in the U.S. develops the disease. According to Ulland, “There may be a day when someone with Alzheimer’s needs your smile to make their day. We hope you’ll drop by and support this worthy cause.”
