Ron Leimer, Publicity
Five members of Cheers Singles Club joined over 45 other travelers on a tour that included a three night stay on the Queen Mary, which is now a museum and hotel anchored at Long Beach, CA. Beverly Plimpton, Elaine Dover, Adrienne Widrickis, Peggy Vernon and Richard Lewin all experienced four great days of fun July 14-17. There were numerous highlights on the trip which was built around an evening of Pageant of the Masters. This remarkable presentation features actors posing and recreating famous paintings and statues, ending with a recreation of The Last Supper. Other highlights included a gondola ride on the canals of the Naples Isle and tours of the Queen Mary. On the Queen Mary was a special exhibit honoring Princess Diana and the Royal Family; also a visit to the Huntington Library and Gardens was very enjoyable.
This is but one of the many trips Cheers members have enjoyed and have to look forward to if you’re a member. Numerous day trips are planned as well as several trips that include overnight stays. Through Cheers, members get to travel with friends and acquaintances which makes these trips more enjoyable. Thanks to Richard Lewin (our activities director) for making such a great effort for our fun!
