March is the time to celebrate reading. March is “National Reading Group Month.” Joining a book club brings people together who enjoy reading and encourages growth and love of reading. Cheers Book Club meets the first Tuesday of the month in the library at Oakwood at 7:00 p.m. We gather at 5:30 p.m. at the club for dinner before meeting in the library. Consider joining the club and enjoy the joy and pleasure of shared reading. Help us celebrate the “National Reading Group Month.” Some of the books planned for the next several months are Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee; Empty Mansions, by Bill Dedman and Tall Grass, by Sandra Dulles.

The Birthday Party on January 21 was great. We celebrated all those who had birthdays in November and December, 2017, and January, 2018. The next celebration will be in mid-April. It was a great evening. It always is.

Don’t forget “Cheers for Chandler Schools.” We are still collecting toiletries, snacks, socks, notebooks, pens and pencils and gift cards for those in need at the Chandler Schools. If you have any questions, call Sue Agnew at 480-401-3774.
