Cheers members enjoyed the quarterly birthday party held at Cottonwood Country Club in September. Always a big turnout for this event and the smiling faces of the birthday members was evidence of a great evening. A very nice Italian dinner was served by the staff at Cottonwood, along with the birthday cake and ice cream – I’m sure no one left the room hungry! Thanks, Marjean Scheele, for doing the arrangements for this great evening of fun.

Monthly events keep Cheers members busy with the Book Club, bridge, wine tasting, Hand and Foot, fun dining and of course, the trips that Richard Lewin put together for us through Free Spirit Vacations. Membership renewal is coming up starting October 1 so make sure you don’t miss out on the next year’s events. You can pay your dues at the Thursday socials to Mary Ellen Smyth or Maria Aitken. Forms will be included in the November and December newsletters and you can also mail your dues to Maria if you can’t attend the socials. Remember, we’re now meeting at Poolside in the Oakwood Country Club at 4:00 p.m. every Thursday. We’re open to all singles who live in Sun Lakes, Springfield and SunBird. Come to the social to see our bulletin board of events, meet new friends and just enjoy the pleasure of each other. The welcome ladies are waiting for you at the door; don’t be shy, we’re a very friendly group of singles!
