Welcome to our Fall Dinner Party

Ann Kisner

Fall has come, and it’s almost gone. Thanksgiving will be over when you read this, and you will be rushing to get ready for the next holiday. Halloween was not as eventful this year. It seems the witches have lost their brooms. Hopefully, they will find them and return next year.

We have been fortunate to have two guest speakers the last two months. The Assistant Fire Marshall of Maricopa County, John Teixeira, shared information on safety features in our homes, including lock boxes, fire extinguishers, etc. He was happy to answer all our questions.

Richard arranged for Susanne, the new owner of Free Spirit, to come and share new travel with us. Susanne also provided refreshments to share with everyone. It looks like 2022 will be a busy travel year for many of our Cheers members. It’s a good idea to start planning early.

Mary Beth Sutor has started a Cheers Mahjongg group. All players are welcome, regardless of their skill levels. Lessons will be given to those who have not played and wish to learn. For more info, contact Mary Beth at 520-227-9432 or [email protected].

Sally and Sue are busy collecting your contributions. Gift cards would be appreciated over the Christmas holidays, as well as food and financial donations for Hamilton High School families. You can bring them to the socials or take them to Sally’s house. Her address is 9322 E. Crystal Drive, Oakwood. Her phone number is 203-470-0733. You can also contact Sue for more information at 480-491-3774.

We have a special request from our friends at Hamilton. If any of you have musical instruments you do not use and would like to donate them, there are some students who would love to have them to use at school. They would love to be able to be part of the band. Please call Sally at 203-470-0733.

If you are a single living in Sun Lakes, SunBird, Solera, or Springfield, you are welcome to join us. We would love to have you as a member. If you want more info, call Ginny Marr at 480-390-5145, or Richard Lewin at 480-525-3630, or check out our website at cheerssingles.org.
