Here is a quick review of Cheers in 2017: We have a membership of about 200 singles. Membership is open to any single living in Sun Lakes, SunBird or Springfield. We have 35 new members so far this year. Attendance at our Thursday social is about 40 to 60. Now that the long, hot summer is over, that number will increase as the summer travelers and snowbirds return. Even in the long, hot summer, the members still came out in the heat to Happy Hour. We never miss a good thing.

Wine Tasting and Fine/Fun Dining have been well attended. This is a great time to socialize and get to know others better. Richard had quite a few trips planned for us during this year. The four birthday parties held at Cottonwood were a tremendous success. If you missed any of them, too bad. Marjean outdid herself. The food was great, and the entertainment should get an Oscar. Thanks, Marjean, for a job well done.

Bridge, hand and foot and pinochle groups are available, as well as a book club. At this time, we are looking for Fine/Fun Dining and Wine Tasting hosts. Please call Lorene at 480-883-7979 to volunteer. You won’t regret it. It’s fun to be a host.

Richard is encouraging those of you who want to travel in 2018 to sign up soon, as the trips fill up quickly. He always has lots of information at Happy Hour. Check the bulletin board.
