In this photo all eyes are on President Ginny Marr as she told a little history about our group that was formed in 1999 with only a handful of members. At last count we have nearly 240 members and are growing nearly every month.

So wonderful seeing many of our old friends at the reunion which was held at Poolside at Oakwood Country Club on February 25! Nearly 150 members (past and present) joined in the late afternoon and evening to celebrate the event. With the perfect weather what could be better? We thank all our former members who attended; it was great catching up on all the news from them! A big thanks also to Barbara Hall who put this event together, Connie Kindsvater for arranging rides for those who don’t drive, and the ones who made the telephone calls to the past members with a personal invitation to join us. It was so nice seeing everyone in good spirits and also good health – great way to start the New Year!
Cheers is a single group open to all residents in Sun Lakes, SunBird, and Springfield. We have a weekly social every Thursday at Poolside at the Oakwood Country Club. Mike is always there to serve your favorite beverage; three cheers for his service and always a smile for us all too. We meet at 4:00 p.m. so come see what we’re all about as the welcome table at the entrance to Poolside has members waiting for your questions.
