Cheers Trip Opportunities: Several of our members have signed up for the Mystery Tour on Sept. 15. This is always a highly enjoyable trip that takes us to interesting places that we might not be familiar with. Past Mystery Tours have included a dairy tour, a horse rescue facility, a mini-car museum, and a visit to Frontier Village. These bus trips always include lunch and are generally lots of fun.
Other future trips being planned for the Cheers group, are a culinary trip to Tuscany in Italy. Over 20 members are finalizing plans for this November getaway. Others plan on visiting the Blazin’ M Ranch and Sedona on a day trip on Sept. 27, and San Diego Fleet Week Nov. 3 to 6.
Several members are looking forward to the Greek Island trip in October of 2023. They will travel between the islands using the ocean ferries. This allows them to stay on the islands for one or two nights, per the schedule. Mykonos and Santorini will be visited, along with Athens.
To find out more about upcoming trips, call Richard Lewin at 609-332-3915, or Donna Clutcky at Free Spirit Vacations at 480-926-4447, Ext. 2. As we use travel agents, all are welcome on these tours. For more information, visit our website www.cheerssinglesclub.org.
Monthly Wine Tasting: Once a month, a member of our group opens their house for wine tasting. Lorene Roberts leads this monthly social time. For the month of August, our member Ginny Marr hosted our event, where we try new and exciting wines followed by a potluck dinner. We have 20 to 35 members join in this great socializing opportunity with friends and sample what may be new wines to some.
Cheers Golf Group: Mother Nature has turned the oven to Broil, and our golf group is taking some time off. We hope to get back to golfing in September.
For July, we played golf the first two Fridays before taking a break. We played Palo Verde on July 1. Congratulations to Fran Kelly who made a birdie on hole 6, a par 3. We then played Sun Lakes Country Club on the 8th.
After each round, we get together for drinks and social time. If you enjoy golf and socializing, we would love for you to join us. You do not need to be good at golf. We are just out having fun and getting together to talk.
As this is a members-only activity, you will need to be a member of our Cheers Social group. Please contact Mike Swoverland, either at our weekly meeting at the Oakwood clubhouse in the Bradford Room or via email at [email protected], for information on joining our new golf group. Contact Ginny Marr at 480-390-5145 or Richard Lewin at 609-332-3915 for more information on our club and membership. We look forward to having you come and visit us at our Thursday social time at Oakwood Country Club. All singles are welcome.
