If you like to sing, even if it’s only in the car or the shower, now is the best time to check out the Chordaires Show Chorus of Sun Lakes. It’s the start of a new season, and the chorus is seeking new members.
President Janet Lewis has a list of all ways you can learn more about Chordaires:
• Contact President Janet Lewis at 720-308-4434 to receive written materials that describe the chorus in more detail;
• Visit the website at Chordaires.org or email membership@chordaires.org requesting more information;
• Attend one or more of the Sun Lakes HOA Community Open Houses this month. These showcase the many activities available in the community. Chordaires will have a table at each one:
9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 4 at Cottonwood’s San Tan Ballroom,
8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 11 at Sun Lakes Country Club,
9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 18 at Oakwood’s ballroom;
• Visit the first Chordaires rehearsal at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, in the SLCC Mirror Room. If you can’t make the first one, come any Thursday at the same time and place.0
“In the fall rehearsals, we will focus on patriotic songs in preparation for two Veterans Day performances on Nov. 11,” Janet said. “The first is a breakfast for vets and their spouses at the Oakwood ballroom, and the second is a lunch for veterans at Sun Lakes Country Club. Also in the fall, we will work on holiday music for a free performance at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, at SLCC’s Navajo Room,” she said. “During December, we also entertain at holiday parties for Sun Lakes clubs and community assisted living facilities. The holiday music is so much fun, because we sing old favorites and new songs in the barbershop style.”
In January, when the winter visitors are back, the chorus will focus on the music for the annual spring show, “On Air: Harmony Showcase,” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at United Methodist Church, 9248 E. Riggs Road.
