Christmas, Dixieland style

The Dan Reed Dixieland Hotshots

The Dan Reed Dixieland Hotshots

The Arizona Classic Jazz Society will end the year with what may be the best local holiday show of the Christmas season. The Dan Reed Dixieland Hotshots will be performing for your listening and dancing pleasure. You will hear your favorite tunes with a Dixieland flare.

The term Dixieland started as a reference to the “Original Dixieland Jazz Band,” the first band to record traditional jazz in 1917. It has since become identified as the music of New Orleans, the Jazz Age of the 1920s and its revival in the 1940s and 1950s. Whatever you call it, it will be entertaining and memorable.

Come, listen, dance and enjoy. All this fun will take place on December 4 from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, One San Marcos Place, Chandler. Cost is $10 ACJS members; $15 non-members (become a member on the 4th and get in free; yearly membership is $35 couple, single $25).
