The Cottonwood Men’s Golf Association started the month of June with a two-day Summer Sizzler event which was combined with the monthly Ace of Aces qualifier. On June 5, the first round of the Sizzler was also the monthly qualifier. On June 12 the second round of the Summer Sizzler was played. The flighted Sizzler was a total Low Gross/Low Net total of the two rounds. The Ace of Aces qualifiers for June were Jim Fall, Don Klein, Bill Irwin, Jim Rumpler, and Ralph Casale.

First Flight: Low Gross Jim Rumpler, Low Net Steve Ambroso; Second Flight: Low Gross Don Klein, Low Net Bill Irwin; Third Flight: Low Gross Dean Senarius, Low Net Dan Paxton; Fourth Flight: Low Gross Steve Martz, Low Net Scott Johnson

A lunch was enjoyed by all the competitors after the round on the 12th.

On June 19, a Cottonwood Palo Verde four-man team competed against a four-man team composed of a Palo Verde pro and a Cottonwood pro and the presidents of the Cottonwood and Palo Verde Men’s Associations. Fourteen teams bested the 47-3/4 score posted by the pros.

The event played on June 26 was called a Cottonwood Combo, which uses the total scores from a selected number of holes. The holes are chosen as the players are competing. It was a flighted Low Gross/Low Net competition.

July will include an Ace of Aces qualifier, a Cha Cha Cha team event, a flighted match play challenge, and a Blind Draw Partner event. Also, the course will be closed the week of July 17 for summer maintenance.
