There are many players who have great solid stroke fundamentals, but without proper footwork and the ability to achieve good court positioning, it doesn’t matter anymore. Sure, any player can hit challenging shots over the net, but if you just wait and watch to see what happens, then you are merely a “spectator”! Watch the professionals. When they are forced out of position, notice how quickly they hustle back into position. Or watch when their opponent sends them a delicate drop shot. They quickly sprint toward the net, displaying anticipation, speed, finesse, the stubbornness of not giving up, ultimately gaining respect from their opponent, regardless of whether they won or lost the point.

As you continue to play weekly, practice moving forward to dominate net play, adding more pressure and less court space for opponents to hit into.
