Chordaires Show Chorus of Sun Lakes is so excited about this year’s spring show! They are busy working on the spring show music, costumes and staging for the show which will be held in the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood, on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The theme this year is “Class Reunion – ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.” We will have more than a capella Barbershop-style singing. There will be dancers from one of the local elementary schools, and the audience can have fun trying to match our ladies with their high school pictures, just to name a bit of the excitement about this show.
The music which spans ‘50s to the ‘80s will include, for example, the McGuire Sisters in the ‘50s, a Beatles Salute in the ‘60s, Neil Diamond in the ‘70s and Michael Jackson in the ‘80s. Each decade will tell a story about what was happening at that time. What were you doing in those years? Were you falling in love? Did you get your first job, car or kiss? Were you into bell bottoms, a flower child, or did you just enjoy listening to the hits on the radio or jukebox? Come and experience the fun of reliving the music of those eras and perhaps jog your high school day memories.
Tickets will be $15, and there will be a 3:00 p.m. matinee and a 7:00 p.m. show to choose from. This show is the Chordaires’ major fundraiser for the year. We are a 501(c)(3) organization which brings women of all ages together to keep alive Barbershop-style singing. We enjoy giving back to the community at Christmas time by singing at memory care facilities in the Chandler area and performing for veterans at Memorial Day Services.
The Chordaires has smaller groups that are for hire for luncheons and parties at the holidays. For more information on special events, please email Ginger Henry at [email protected] or visit our website at www.chordaires.org to learn more or to contact us online.
