Community Theatre Deals a Deadly Hand

Sandy Pallett, director, and Barbie Bergerson, assistant director, are at it again. They are studying the script for the next mystery dinner show to be held at Oakwood!

People kept telling us they wanted a mystery dinner show…and Sun Lakes Community Theatre agreed. So, we’re getting ready to deliver!

Sun Lakes Community Theatre will be presenting Dealt a Deadly Hand: Murder at the Sun Lakes Resort Casino, a mystery with a lot of zany characters who all want something and will kill to get it!

The action takes place in a casino—there’s the casino owner, his daughter, her estranged mother, two senior citizens who really like all the action in casinos, a crocodile chaser TV personality, a crooked lawyer, and two Native Americans who believe they have claim to the casino. “Making a killing” takes on a new meaning in this show!

As in all our mystery dinner shows, the audience gets a chance to guess the killer with the possibility of winning a prize.

Dates: Oct. 9 to 13

Where: Oakwood ballroom

This is also an opportunity for any Sun Laker to be part of the show. Auditions are Aug. 3 at 4 p.m. in the Oakwood ballroom. We are looking for new members, and this is a chance to get involved. Even if you haven’t acted before, give it a chance. What have you got to lose? Or if you want to participate in another way, let us know! A show is fun for the audience and for those involved!

For more info, call Sandy at 480-326-2709.

See you at the theatre in October!

Note: The Sun Lakes Community Theatre Board has made it a requirement that if involved in any of our activities, a COVID vaccine is necessary.

To attend our shows, the venue guidelines will be followed.
