Computer Booters—Low Vision Support Group Collaboration

Helen Seaton

The Computer Booters Club will meet on Wednesday, April 10, at 1 p.m. in the Cottonwood Computer Learning Center, at 25630 S. Brentwood Drive, in Sun Lakes. The Computer Booters Club is starting a collaboration with the Sun Lakes Low Vision Support Group. The Low Vision Support Group helps people to adjust to legal blindness via a support group that provides information and advice. With guidance from the Low Vision Support Group, volunteers from Computer Booters will help adjust numerous devices, including PCs, tablets, iPhones, and iPads, so that the low vision person will be able to use them. This is a win for both the low vision person and the volunteer. This program will help the low vision person delve into the world of social media and stay connected to family and friends. As a dividend, the tasks will expand the knowledge of the Computer Booters volunteer.

The presentation will be followed by a time for questions and answers and an opportunity to visit with other members.

The club now has four forums or discussion groups throughout the month on the following topics: Phones, Basic Computers, Artificial Intelligence, and Microsoft 365.
