Cotillion members Rich Pavlak and Betty Lauer arrived at the ballroom for our February 4 “It’s Love Actually Soirée” decked out in matching formal attire! We really appreciate the effort members and guests put into making each event special, and Betty and Rich exemplify that spirit. When you see so many couples enjoying each other’s company, the food, the service, the great music and the dancing on the spacious ballroom floor, it is easy to appreciate why the members strive to keep this club’s traditions alive and vital.
The Cotillion Dance Club is presenting the “Set the Night to Music Gala” in the Oakwood ballroom on Saturday, April 8. Our final dance of the season will parallel the rising spring temperatures by presenting lively music and food selections hinting at possible summer travel destinations. Attire is semi-formal – suits and cocktail dresses. Music will be provided by Chuck-e-Baby and the All Stars. This band has grown into a favorite for many of the adult communities. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Come early and enjoy the company and atmosphere. Members and guests are welcome. Guest seating will be limited, so be sure to register early. Member invitations have been mailed. Online registration is available on our website.
Chuck Morris will be presenting a special acoustical performance during our VIP reception. The Oakwood banquet chef will be providing hot hors d’oeuvres with never-empty glasses of delicious champagne at the VIP reception preceding the dance. The reception is followed by an intimate three-course sit-down dinner prepare by our chef and served by the banquet staff. Cotillion Dance Club volunteers have planned the decor for this semi-formal event to be commensurate with the Arizona spring to summer transition. The first course provides a choice of a Bistro Salad, or a Sonoran Caesar Salad. Entree choices include grilled chicken and sweet potato or balsamic roasted Portobello or roasted chicken and wild mushroom crepes or Moroccan lamb lollipop. Dessert choices include chocolate chip and banana bread pudding with Kentucky bourbon sauce or a seasonal fruit plate. The menu simply shouts “spring” – sounds wonderful!
One of our dance studio sponsors is Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Chandler. This is their second season as a Cotillion Dance Club sponsor. We appreciate their continued services to the club. Please visit our website for more information about the services and programs available for our membership.
The group dance lesson for the upcoming dinner dance is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood ballroom. Fred Astaire Dance Studio will be providing instructors for the Cha Cha. Members and guests are welcome.
