The first dance of the season was titled “Celebrating Our New Venue in Sequins and Bow Ties.” The meal and ballroom decor were terrific. The band was simply wonderful; the Jukebox6 Band led by Tammie Stockley had everyone dancing. The Cotillion guests were dancing to the last song and wanted more. What a great way to start off the new season.
The Cotillion Dance Club wants to thank the Cottonwood banquet staff, especially Andy Warren, for the best event we have had in years. We are very happy about the move to Cottonwood. We also want to thank Antonio (Tony) Lomeli from Fred Astaire Dance Studio for leading our group dance lesson the day before the January dance. Tony taught the Foxtrot to the couples who attended. They were all anxious to use the new dance routines during the upcoming dance.
The Cotillion Dance Club presentation of “We’ll Always Have Paris” on February 9, 2019, will feature music by the SwingTips. The reception will feature champagne, antipasti platter and a teriyaki beef satay. The dinner menu will feature a salad of mixed spring greens served with ranch or honey mustard dressing on the side and warm rolls and butter. The entrée selections are a grilled pork chop with green peppercorn sauce or chicken cordon bleu with white cheese sauce, both served with herbed mashed potatoes and broccoli and strawberry mousse in chocolate cups for dessert. The dietary meal is salmon with zest lemon dill sauce served with baked potato and broccoli and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Guest and members should RSVP via email, text, phone or by using our website.
Next group dance lesson will be on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Tony is scheduled to teach again. This lesson will focus on the Cha Cha. The lesson will be held in the Sun Lakes Country Club Mirror Room. All residents of the Sun Lakes communities are welcome to attend our club’s group dance lessons.
