While many members are away to escape the heat, plans for the 2014-2015 Cotillion Dance Club season are well underway. The Board of Directors recently met to discuss bands, themes, menus and decor. One highlight of the season will be dancing to the music of the Sonoran Serenade, a 19 piece orchestra, at our formal Black and White Ball in January.

Welcomed at the meeting were the new Secretaries John and Judy Ferrin and new Treasurers Larry and Jan Ott. Outgoing officers, Mel and Jacquey Moss and Dan and Beverly Bumgarner were recognized for their contribution and dedication the past few years.

A reminder for all members that dues of $85 for the upcoming season need to be received prior to September 1. At that time, any openings will be available to new members. The dates for the dances for the upcoming season are October 11, November 8, January 10, February 7, March 14 and April 11. Events are black tie affairs with the exception of October and April, which are semi formal.

Many members purchased the DVD of the last season’s events. Fred and Linda Smith put a tremendous amount of effort into this project and it has been very well received. We do have a few available for those who did not order them in advance.
