New Cotillion members Roger Murphy and Carol Beatty attended the April 8 “Set the Night to Music Gala” in the Oakwood Ballroom and made their wedding engagement announcement on this very special evening. Congratulations to you both! This announcement made the pre-dance reception seem more than appropriate by giving the membership more reasons to enjoy the champagne!

The evening was tremendous. The VIP reception began with Chuck Morris playing the acoustic guitar with accompanying champagne and hors d’oeuvres. It was a great way to begin the evening. The chef, Liliana Rodriguez, and banquet staff did a splendid job on the elegant sit-down dinner. The Roasted Chicken and Wild Mushroom Crepes with Tomato Butter Sauce and the Moroccan Lamb Lollipop entrées were “to die for.” The music provided by Chuck-e-Baby and the Allstars featured modern arrangements of ballroom dance music. Did you know you can waltz to Van Morrison? Dancing started early, and the floor was busy all night. It was a very special evening to end another great season.

The Cotillion Dance Club membership presented selected servers with a quality award and gift for their awesome service. Elaine Pooni received the special “Cotillion Dance Club Appreciation Award.” This award is given to one banquet server who, in the opinion of the membership, provided the best, consistent, friendly and professional service over the entire season. Great job, Elaine!
