Cottonwood Ladies Extended Spring League

“Queen of Aces” Carol Trentadue

Toni Reider

This league started in April and ran for eight weeks. We started out with 20 girls signing up to play, and as ladies left town for cooler weather, we had a dozen troopers left to play in the hotter temperatures. We kept track of scores and had a first-place winner with Karin Hermann, second place Barb Ludwig, and third place Susie Dunn. Just for fun, we also tracked how many aces and double faults were made. Not surprisingly, with 15 aces, Carol Trentadue came away with the title “Queen of Aces.” Of course, with that title, she also had the most double faults, because her tennis pro father, Jason Morton, taught her to try her best with every serve.

It was such a fun league, with tons of laughs and no tears. We celebrated at the Cottonwood restaurant on May 26 with a delicious lunch and many prizes and gifts. It is such a pleasure and blessing to organize tennis for these lovely ladies.
