As we waltz into April and our wonderful Arizona spring weather, we know we will be saying goodbye at the end of the month to our many Niners winter golfers. It’s always a bit sad to send so many of our residents back to their summer homes, but we know they’ll be back in Sun Lakes next fall to share their adventures when we meet up again! And to our year-round residents, remember, we continue to play league golf until the end of May.
Our Member/Guest Tournament on March 19 was a grand success! Members and their guests enjoyed a fun day of games, gifts, and golf and made many new friendships. The final tally of our donation to the Neighbors Who Care meal delivery program will be shared when that number is made available. Please look for pictures of the event on our website cottonwoodnine.azgolf.org. We are already looking forward to this fun event next winter!
Two pairs of golfers represented our league in the statewide Arizona Medallion Tournament held each January. This great event has been held at the Oakwood golf courses for several years, and we are proud of our Niner representatives who shine at this event. Winning their flight at this year’s tournament are Patsy Lawless and Ellen Alvarado. Congratulations, ladies!
We’d also like to congratulate Tina Hankin on her taking the Niners league Net Championship this winter! Look for our league’s gross and net champion pictures on the Niners bulletin board outside the Cottonwood Pro Shop.
