Glenna Twing, President

We are off and running, with our motors revved up. We had a wonderful start on Nov. 5 with 64 members enduring 99-degree heat, the hottest November day ever in Arizona! With that behind us, we then celebrated the end of our 25th anniversary year with a Welcome Back Celebration Brunch.

Announced at the brunch are this year’s officers: Glenna Twing, president; Leeanna Mickelson, vice president; Lynn Tanner, treasurer; and Phyllis Stephens, secretary.

Due to restrictions last spring, we honored and celebrated the victories of our members for the 2019-20 season.

Club Champion: Eden Carter and Club Champion, net: Joanne Dunn

Our victorious State Medallion Champions, who won the entire State Tournament for nine-hole clubs, congrats goes to Sheila Axtman and Laura Carothers. We are hoping to retain the trophy again this year.

Most Improved Golfer: Lisa Mohoric

And, finally, our new birdie tree program designed by Sharon Howard recognized 22 members with birdies this past season. The award for most birdies (four) went to Anita Hopkins.

With new adventures insight, we are looking forward to our Turkey Shoot on Nov. 19, and our always fun Christmas party and ugly sweater contest on Dec. 17. Maybe even Santa or one of his elves will show up. This is just the start. There is a new and exciting event scheduled for every month.
