The month started with the annual Home and Home competition against the men of Leisure World Golf Association. This event is a two-day challenge with two-man teams from each club. On Dec. 5 play was held at Leisure World, and on Dec. 7 play was held at Cottonwood Golf Course. The format was a team match play, with one point won for winning the front, back, and total. Thirty-four teams from each association competed to see if Leisure World would retain the cup they won last year. The Leisure World men played exceptionally well on their home course and took a commanding 62 to 40 point lead. The Cottonwood men played well on their home course but were unable to overcome the large deficit, and the overall total was 106.5 to 97.5 for Leisure World Golf Association. Besides the good competition, a great lunch was served at Leisure World, and pizza and refreshments were enjoyed by all after play at Cottonwood. Leisure World retains the cup for another year.
