The Cottonwood Tennis Club (CTC) Women’s Monday League celebrated the conclusion of the Women’s 3.0/3.5 fall season on Dec. 15, marking 10 weeks of competitive play. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by warm weather, reaching 75 degrees, making it fun to see spring appear.

The event features 20 regular players, including newcomer Heidi Henry, daughter of Sandy Mason, our beloved former player.

The tournament format remained consistent, with participants playing three sets of eight games each, rotating with no-ad scoring. Winners were closely contested, with first place going to Carol Trendadue, daughter of the late Jason Morgan, who scored 109 games. Second place was secured by Karin Herrmann with 108 games, while third place went to Teresa Hermsen, cousin of Julia Romanin who is also actively involved in organizing food for our tournaments and social events. Our most consistent player this year went to our speedy petite Tammy Knight.

Our regular players include Andi Jenack, Barb Ludwig, Carol Trentadue, Gwen Lucus, Karin Herrmann, Kris Ongert, Neda Mead, Pat Davidson, Pat McRoberts, Susan Aparicio, Susie Dunn, Tammy Knight, Teresa Hermsen, Toni Reider, Dian Bromley, Petra Janusas, Heidi Henry, Sandy Casale, and Renee Hansen. Our subs Adriana Michael, Lorna Lane, Judy Evans, Martine Blue, Sylvia Page, and Julia Romanin are always giving us a good challenge.

The year’s end celebration highlighted the contributions and camaraderie of all our players, featuring a vibrant tennis community at Cottonwood Tennis Club. Our league encourages new players to join and to contact CTC for further information.
