The Crystal Card Project: Recycled greeting cards for charity

Volunteers assemble new greeting cards by recycling the fronts and messages from used greeting cards. The newly created cards, called Crystal Cards, will be sold and the proceeds donated to My Sister’s Place.

Your help is needed.

Volunteers in Sun Lakes are collecting and recycling greeting cards. The goal is to make and sell several thousand cards by the end of this year. The money collected will be donated to My Sister’s Place, a Chandler program that helps people reestablish their lives after leaving abusive relationships.

The project was started by a group of women who were recipients of Crystal Awards in 2016. The Crystal Awards recognize individuals in Sun Lakes for volunteer efforts. This year’s winners decided to use their platform to launch another volunteer activity to give to the community. The Crystal Card project was born.

You can help by donating cards and/or helping to make and sell cards. Contact Charlene Petragallo at 480-883-0782 or Kathy Skrei at 480-883-1740 for more information.
