Crystal Cards: Get Involved

Re-made cards

There are many ways to participate in this worthwhile organization. Crystal Cards uses recycled greeting cards to create new cards, which sell for $1. This money is given to My Sister’s Place, a crisis center for domestic violence victims and their children. So, when you have used cards and see one of these bins, drop them in. We have numerous volunteers who cut/paste/assemble your used cards into beautiful “new” cards. The bins are located at the following locations:

Palo Verde in the Women’s Lounge;

Cottonwood in the library;

Oakwood clubhouse, south hallway;

Robson Reserve in the reception area;

Sun Lakes Country Club in the library; and

SunBird in the lobby.

Please don’t cut any part of the card or use a marker to cover up any writing. We need the entire card and will make sure all writing is removed.

We have a workshop the last Wednesday of each month in the Ceramics Room, Cottonwood. The next one is March 22 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. If you don’t have cards to donate or don’t have the inclination to create a new card, we have sales each month. Upcoming sales are as follows:

Wednesday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to noon in the San Tan Ballroom, Cottonwood

Saturday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Kare Bear Sale at SunBird

Wednesday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bradford Room, Oakwood

Tuesday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Sun Lakes Country Club lobby
