By now, all homeowners have the updated information on the JW Water Rate Case as reported through In The Know. By working together, the three HOAs were able to have a unified voice in the rate case, obtain professional representation, and pursue a settlement that substantially reduced the originally requested increase by JW Water. Our combined efforts are projected to save our communities approximately $250,000 per year compared with the original proposal. Your Board’s quick response facilitated this favorable outcome. Thank you to every one of the 550 homeowners who registered an objection to the ACC website.
And now, on to the budget process. I want to assure our homeowners that the Board and management are taking a thoughtful and responsible approach to planning for the future of our community.
We are carefully reviewing our operating expenses, evaluating where we can become more efficient, and looking at how we can best prioritize the services and amenities that are important to our homeowners. Our goal is to not simply balance a budget for the coming year, but to look at the bigger picture. How we manage our resources today while also protecting the long-term financial health of Sun Lakes. We know that financial discussions can create questions and concerns and want our homeowners to know that we are approaching this process carefully, responsibly and with the best interests of the entire community in mind. Our focus remains on building a financially responsible plan that supports a strong, vibrant, and sustainable Sun Lakes for years to come.
