Do you enjoy taking day trips but hate the hassle of driving to get to your destination? Do you enjoy the beauty of our state and would like to find a way to see the wonders of our state hassle-free with other Sun Lakes residents who share your passion? The Day Trippers may be just for you. We are a travel group here in Cottonwood Palo Verde, but we’re open to all Sun Lakes and SunBird residents who enjoy travel. We work with a local travel agency to plan day trips.
Some upcoming trips already planned include Dolly Steamboat and lunch at Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flat on Feb. 27 at a cost of $168 per person; Scottsdale Lip Smacking Foodie Tour on Jan. 8 and March 5 at a cost of $395 per person (these are separate day trips); Musical Instrument Museum and Fogo de Chao for lunch on Jan. 19 at a cost of $199 per person; Valley of the Sun Phoenix/Scottsdale where you will visit the Arizona Biltmore hotel, Old Town Scottsdale Museum of the West, the Arizona Capitol building, and downtown Phoenix and Papago Park; Barleens Valentines Variety Spectacular on Friday, Feb. 14, for $154 per person; and Anything Goes and lunch at Organ Stop Pizza on Friday, Feb. 21, for $180 per person.
