We welcome March here in the desert and around our world, as our landscape continues to inspire artists’ appreciation of its unique splendor. It is one of the nicest times of the year to be outside enjoying ourselves in the mild temperatures, taking in all that our senses can hold. The anticipation of new growth (nature’s and our own) calls us to create the beautiful gifts that surround us each day on canvas and other mediums. Spring is calling us to pick up our brushes and begin anew. Come join us each week and be inspired.
Art at the Lakes is an annual fundraising event, and we, as artists, support each other’s talents by participating and attending. It is held in Cottonwood around the lake across from the tennis courts. We congratulate all those participating this year and appreciate all the effort they put into making this a premier community event. Art at the Lakes will be on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check the Splash for full details.
The Desert Artists Club (DAC) meets each Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood. We come together to be with other artists and work/play on our own projects. We bring our own supplies and work in our preferred medium. We are a casual club with no meetings or dues. It is fun and encouraging to create together.
If you are new to Sun Lakes or wish to just come and see what we are about, stop in on a Tuesday and check out our group. The best time is between 3 and 5 p.m. Feel free to ask questions and see if this might be a fit for you. You may also contact me, Sue Sindelar, at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 480-745-2198. I will return your call.
