Desert Artists Club News

Sue Sindelar

The Desert Artists Club (DAC) enjoyed a social gathering in August where longtime members met new artists who have joined the club. We shared delicious treats and visits with friends. It was a nice break in the heat of the summer. We will be having another social and “Share Your Art” gathering this fall. These events are always fun and uplifting.

The DAC of Sun Lakes is open to residents who belong to any of the three HOAs: Sun Lakes Country Club, Cottonwood Palo Verde, and IronOaks. Our club is comprised of artists who wish to create art together in a relaxing and fun environment. We meet weekly between 3 and 6 p.m. in the Ceramics Room (A-8). We are across from the Golf Pro Shop on South Robson Boulevard in Cottonwood.

Our club is a diverse group of artists who work (play) in many mediums, including watercolor, oils, acrylics, colored pencil, charcoal, and mixed media. We bring our own supplies and projects that we are working on and enjoy the company of others wishing to take a break from daily routines and stressors. We are a casual club with no dues or meetings. We have enjoyed artistic outings and social events in the past, and look forward to participating in these extra activities when possible.

You are welcome to stop in any Tuesday, between 3 and 5 p.m., to see if this club will meet your needs. There is no requirement to join other than a love of art and a desire to be with other artists to support and enjoy each other’s talents. If you choose to join, you will be on an email list for notifications of extra events and club news.

If you wish more information, you may contact me at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 480-745-2198. Most questions can be answered by members during our weekly gatherings, so don’t hesitate to stop in.
