Summer is here, and with it came the heat of our desert. It is a good time to take a break and head to the Desert Artists Club (DAC) group to chill out with fellow artists and start or continue work on a project. The Desert Artists Club meets year-round, except on holidays, and welcomes artists and painters of all mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, colored pencil, or charcoal.
We are now meeting as a group again, with a limited number of folks and wearing masks. Since we don’t know who has been vaccinated, we will continue with these precautions for everyone’s safety and comfort level. As new data comes forth regarding indoor gatherings, we can perhaps relax these requirements for our club, and you will be informed through our members’ email letter.
Anyone new to Sun Lakes is welcome to join us each Tuesday afternoon between 3 and 6 p.m. in the Cottonwood Ceramics Room (A-8). It is located across from the golf Pro Shop in the courtyard, opposite the library. Come when you can and stay as long as you can. Bring your painting or art supplies and join our relaxing and friendly club. For more information about the DAC, you may contact me at [email protected] or 480-745-2198, and please leave a message.
